gah! i missed new tunes tuesday yesterday! i dont know where my mind was. i'll make up for it with an extra awesome NTT next week and this insight into the fun that is had on M street after dark. ENJOY:
how we keep ending up at Rocket Bar? not too sure. but a late night out that includes killer fashion, oooodles of PBR, and legthy stories of brent's recent escapades - not too bad.
soooo, being gone most mondays-fridays leave most catching up, shopping, manicures, baking and other twin (see striking resemblance above and below) shenanigans for weekends. like this weekend for example - kicked off with a visit to the new neighborhood nail salon, over to Jeff and Ben's, out for empanadas/Cafe Citron/jumbo slice, m street after/sleepover party, a spectacular day outside saturday, followed by dinner - m street style (exciting new photo blog!), then a wildly fun evening of dupont, chinese food for breakfast and very little sleep. sunday = recovery. it's tough to cram it all into one weekend! - SOOOO, the last weekend that i was home in the district, jamie and i went on a shopping adventure that ended with us laughing till we were crying and taking these photos. -
we only saw it fitting that scott said farewell to dc (living in Boulder, CO now) in style. 1 touristy adventure outfitted the 4 of us. my pants sadly (or purposely) cannot fully be seen. i HEART dc jeggings? YES, i am now the proud owner of a pair. certain involved parties mayyyy have not wanted these shared, but these are just too sweet to hold to myself. ENJOY!and be sure to compliment krishnan and his "special lady" shirt
sshhhhhhhh. not only am i having desserts for my first meal of the day, but jamie and I are enjoying this beautiful friday sitting at baked and wired. i'm back from west virginia! come hang out!
last thursday we all met up after work, danced to some top 40 in the car, grabbed Chix burritos and burrs, waltzed on down to the 9:30 club and boogied 'til the wee hours with Tokyo PC and Passion Pit. what an awesome night. here's how it went...

welcome back from the weekend! this photo was taken during last summer's outing to Wounded Knee, South Dakota for a weekend with Krishnan's Uncle Jack. a weekend where Jamie sported wrist bands mid-calf (QUITE baller of her), Krish looked incredibly happy in his teal short shorts, and I was 3 and a half feet tall. ahhhhh, the good times.
-
this weekend, though, the 3 M Streeters were split up - jamie and krish off frollicking at the Daddio compound on Chincoteague, and i was holding down the m street fort, playing a couple soccer games, catching a jazz festival show at Utopia, going swimming and fried fish eatin' out at Hains Point (!), fiiiiinally checking out Dickson, and possibly contracting emphysema from the 95 degree smoggy weather the District was enduring.

ooooh, and planning ahead for Happy Wednesday this week. what do y'all think of catching some italian ice and an outdoor movie?
lovely to see the increase of bikers joining me on the morning commute. way to go, DC. hopefully you guys stuck it to the Metro this morning, gave your car a break, and rode your stylin' two-wheeler to the office today in support of the District's Bike to Work Day. for those who officially signed up for the day's events - enjoy thefree food, drinks, prizes, and mmmhmmm - tshirts! if you miss the shirt today, and want in on some other bikey gear (/news, sites, general excitement) check out:
i hope everyone has a lovely weekend! my mom is in town for the next couple of days, so there is sure to be cupcakes and coffee breaks and shopping trips a plenty. then, sadly, we are wishing David goodbye before he summers in Maine then studies at UNC for the next two years.

next week, i'll be working and hopefully blogging too (*fingers crossed for internet*) from west virginia. keep me updated while i'm gone!
we all made it back to the District in one piece after our 5-day jaunt to St. John! ahhhhh, days of beach lounging, sun bathing, babe watching, hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, notreallyshowering, and camping on white sand beaches - island adventures may need to become an annual thing. (see future post for tales of coral fighting, sea urchin wrestling, 3rd degree sun burns, and spiders the size of my head)
